Delivery of alcohol and no signature - offence?

Trivial, as usual.

I have ordered both beer and wine on line.
Dire warnings that someone 18 or older must be present with ID to accept
the delivery.

DHL for the wine.
DPD for the beer.

DHL showed "signed for" on their tracking/delivery details.

So booze (delivery restrictions) is delivered to an address and marked as
signed for although it isn't.

Is this an offence?

Cheers

Oooh, you've just reminded me of a dispatch of wine I received a few
months ago, ordered from Amazon by a happy client of mine.

Parcel was left on the doorstep, did the courier even know what it was?

By contrast, Deliveroo, who I work part time for, have a policy that we
ask everyone for their ID, even if over 18 and look over 25, a touch
embarassing when a person in their later years answers the door.

I suspect that is merely to prevent - as best they can - a very common
situation where the driver hands the food over to the first person to
answer the door which in a shared house or block of flats may not be the
customer.

When this happens, anecdotally, Deliveroo (or Uber eats) can get very
aggressive about refusing to issue a refund.
