'Cult' members jailed over coroner kidnap plot

Members of an "anti-establishment cult" have been jailed for up to
seven years for storming a court with handcuffs and trying to kidnap
a coroner.

...

The group called itself the Federal Postal Court, also known as the
Court of the People.

Christopher was the group's "chief judge", with Martin and Sean
Harper as his "sheriffs".

Shiza Harper, a former special constable with the Metropolitan
Police, held a "postal inspector" role.

The "Federal Postal Court" bit is a nice touch given we're not in the US.

It is unclear whether they had any grievance with the Essex coroner, or
whether it was thought to be a relatively unguarded court to practise on.

Yeah I haven't found any explanation as to why they were picking on this
particular coroner - whether they had had some interaction with him in
the past that they objected to, or they just thought he was an easy
target, or what.

Perhaps they thought they were in Switzerland. That's where the UPU is,
after all.

Their 'coat of arms' bears the motto of a Royal Mail parcel barcode number.
A nice touch, really fills out the kookery.

The barcode doesn't have any tracking information, I checked.
If you google it comes up with their 'judicial notice', which is...
interesting.

Looking at the photos in that article, the miscreants look pretty
normal. What can they have been thinking?
