I believe the starting point is your time is worthless.

Then you have to demonstrate a loss.

Then you have to demonstrate you did everything in your power to mitigate
that loss.

It's a lot of work for fine words.

I am in the throes of having a meter maintenance company (MPAAS) check my
gas meter on behalf of EDF.
They missed an appointment today (scheduled between 13:00 and 17:00,
should call an hour before arrival).
I finally chased them up around 17:20 and a short while later was called
to say the engineer had "had problems".
No explanation as to why I wasn't contacted to be informed.
There is wording in their email confirming the appointment "If we can't
make your appointment on the day, you may be entitled to £30 compensation
depending on what's gone wrong – this will be arranged by EDF where
applicable".
Note the use of "may".
I don't see any link to Ts&Cs.
On general principles, would the NG expect this to be £30 worth of
compensation?
Or is it more likely to be if gas or electricity is not available and they
failed to fix this?
Personal inconvenience enough?
I didn't have to take time off work.
Cheers

You complain to your supplier and insist on the £30 account credit for
their missed appointment as per the Ts & Cs.
What exactly is wring with your gas meter? Is itsupposed to be smart and
isn't ?

Smart.
Apparently it is inconsistent in the reporting via the electricity meter.
I can look at the daily readings on the web site, and the gas readings
seem very strange, with gaps when we were at home, and usage in the summer
when we were away for a few days so nothing being used.
That is CH off and we weren't cooking on the gas hob.

I am assured we have been marked as a priority call so they will
definitely turn up this time.

Hopefully we will be told what the fault is.

Cheers
