(too old to reply)

The woodburning stove here requires a minor repair. We have a HETAS
Certificate from the time it was installed, which was supplied with all
the other documentation at the time of purchase.

However, on reading through the TA6 completed by the previous owner,
there was no mention of the woodburning stove being installed in 2009,
three years before we purchased this place. In 4.2 there is a
requirement to fill out information about *central* heating systems, and
other things such as solar panels and air conditioning, but nothing
about woodburning stoves.

This hasn't changed with the latest TA6 (4th edition 2020) according to
the specimen form downloadable from the Law Society. This seems a
strange omission considering that Building Regs have to be met, and
there are safety and insurance matters to be taken into consideration
when such a stove is installed. The survey report we had done mentioned
the need for a HETAS certificate, so why is there nothing about it the TA6?

One the narrow point, if the woodburner doesn't have a back boiler with
hot water heating other rooms, it's probably not "central heating". It's
an instance of 'distributed heating'.
